Additive AST 5121 HE is a high-efficiency acrylic homopolymer rheology modifier designed for water-based systems. This anionic thickener effectively replaces conventional cellulosic thickeners and offers superior performance at comparatively lower dosages.
Being non-cellulosic in nature, Additive AST 5121 HE minimizes issues such as putrefaction and viscosity drift commonly associated with cellulose-based thickeners in water-based coatings.
The product provides improved flow and leveling properties while maintaining excellent viscosity stability. It is suitable for use in pigment pastes, aqueous paints, aqueous inks, and textile printing formulations.
Viscosity development occurs after neutralization with alkali and adjustment of pH above 7.
